Title: Squidhenge music and noises
Post by: Scatcycle on November 23, 2009, 22:27:50
At the squidhenge the second i hit the elites body into the circle this ritual music i hadnt heard of happend. after a while it stopped. i started shooting the light with the carbine. they were all out exepct the last one. i shot it but immeidaitly both the engineers did this kinda whine noise. i shot it again and the same thing happend. did they not want me to destroy it? so i destroyed it and they did this scared yell thing and started floating away.

I don't think the Engineer AI is THAT intelligent. We're dealing with dumb f'in 'beings', here; it was simply a coincidence because otherwise it would ALWAYS happen everytime someone did it.

OK, I didn't mean BAD AI, I meant not-actually-intelligent-like-a-real-living-being-AI.

[Dons his referee outfit and outstretches his arms]

TIME OUT!
 ;)

The terminology (AI vs. Trigger) is a moot point if the event you are trying to describe is not reliably documented and reliably repeatable.

What I do know:
The "I heard weird music" syndrome is a common report all over B.net.  What is uncommon (and I think nonexistent) is a report that actually cites either:

1) The name of the music track as it appears on the Official Soundtrack
2) The fact that the track does NOT appear on the soundtrack

So... a list of all the tracks that DO appear in the game (and where) would be most useful.

No, no, no!  LOL

Either buy the soundtrack (http://www.bungiestore.com/Halo-3-ODST/A/B002LBGBOK.htm) or make do referring to Amazon's online clips (http://www.amazon.com/Original-Soundtrack-Martin-Michael-Salvatori/dp/B002LBGBOK/).

I have begun a list here (http://subculturelifestyle.com/forum/index.php?topic=351.msg1632#msg1632).

Piracy and AI aside.  I have also wondered at the musical cue when standing in squidhenge.  SGPs have seen it as a confirmation that something is up with it for a while now.  I am sure that when Recon Alpha gets rolling that's something they'll check. Recon Zilch can look into it too.
