It was a big invasion, Reach was a big planet...

The question is:  why are they all piled up around a random broken building for Noble 6's last stand?

If they were S-II, they could've been the ones defemding the MAC Generators or whatever in "Fall of Reach". Maybe Bungie didn't bother to make S-II models and just used S-III models...Otherwise, there is no explanation to them.
Was QTA XII/VI on all the armours? Or just in the one you pictured?

I have seen the QTA on other Troops although you would have to just take my word for it....cus I haz no proof.

Did Fall of Reach end with a epic battle where everyone died? anything about 10 Spartans in a final stand off?

Just a side note: I got out of this map and there is a huge docking station to the far right of the map...a lot of epic pictures could be taking here..

I wonder why there are almost a dozen dead spartans around some run down building, yet there isn't a single drop of blood near any of them.  Maybe the place is a dump site, and not where the troops actually died?

Place yourself between the barrier and a drop ship. slow-mo until you brake past it.

Start film.
pause film.
find a drop ship.
fly above it (until you cant go any higher)
follow the ship while it is lifting.
slow motion the film ( reposition yourself as needed)
while doing this click the Right bumper (rise up button)
now you can go any where...and I do mean any where.
(this can be done on any level)

I've tried that on Winter Contingency but the dropships gain height and then move forward very fast... I just can't do it. :(

This is a bump so that everyone sees the new topic of this thread.  We didn't have a "search party" thread for this level at the time Enigma began this.  Now we do- and this is it!

My guess (and soon we will find out if its true) is that those bodies are from the people over xbox live who completed the mission right before you. If it is, that is pretty cool. I'm going to test this by going offline and doing it.

They aren't. I've seen many others, white, red, blue.

I checked and I was wrong about the spartans.

Now this doesn't quite make sense, and it probably screws with the canon, but listen in:

Noble 6 Stayed on Reach for the glassing, and was killed in the process. He knew that Reach was his home. He would not leave it. After he died, he entered some sort of a purgatory. This is where all spartans go when they die. You can not get out of the purgatory unless you die. It lets every spartan go down how they always wanted to. With a fight.

That would explain why all the other spartans were there, and why Noble 6 appeared to be in a completely random location. Although it messes up the canon by the helmet on the ground in the end, it's not that bad of a theory.

On another note: There has been talk about BOBs, a covenant ranger (i think). The description for them on b.net is: "Wipe them out". There is at one BOB on every level, but no one has found the one on Lone Wolf. Me, Phantasm, and CIA were seeing how long we could last on Lone Wolf, and CIA had this trick where you could hide under the spawning place and they would not attack you. We all hid there and then eventually CIA and 'asm got killed. I get bored so I go out to kill some guys, and then, after I kill an elite Zealot with a sword, I see a BOB running into a fence next to me trying to kill me. I did not attack him, I only laughed. Then I started getting shot by a spirit so I ran back to the hiding spot. He then leaves and goes somewhere else. Later CIA told me of the BOBs. Maybe, if I had killed him on legendary, it would have triggered the ending.

Then I went out to kill the 100000 elites sitting there and I just killed every one of em, then after a while I died. It was epic. I plan to make a video of it, put it on youtube, and set Linkin Park music to it.

Task Force: Zombiespartans

Members:
Scatcycle
pulse
imppa
(join)

Plan:
1: Play on easy with cowbell, get some plasma grenades, and quick!
2: Everyone get over one body, I or someone else kills them all.
3: I or someone else throws grenades at the body, resurrecting the spartan

Anyone up for this today?

Two things... me and my friends (Keioske and The Lost Fox) killed a BOB on lone wolf a few days ago. I remember (being dead at that moment) going Kill that guy quick! He did do the deed but nothing happened....

On another note...

I can get out of the level even easier than you guys...
1. Start the film.
2. Fast foward till you start moving around.
3. Pause the film.
4. use the back button to get to the start.
5. Press B then Y
Bam! outa the level! Works in any storymode (I tested it)
Downsides: You cant advance the film and once you get inside the playable area you have to repeat the process to get back outside.

On lone wolf, if you do this trick, all the dead marines are standing there where they would normaly be but the spartans arent... In games if you want a dead body, it is common to place a person (marines in this case) and modify thier HP to 0, so that when the level starts they die. Its easier than having to actually put the body in the exact position you want it in. I dont really know why they didnt do it with the spartans though. I suggest that you do the zombie trick on a marine as well...

That reminds me! On lone wolf some of the spartans are wearing armor that we dont have access to! Gungnir helmet, security helmet, Jun's shoulder (the one with the ammo in it), Jorge's Shoulder, Emile's Shoulder (No knife), Carter's right shoulder (I can see the left one in my armory), and Carter's chest. Those are the ones I can recall...

So do the Spartans spawn alive, and then drop dead to the floor the instant they are spawned? Or do they just spawn there themselves?
If they don't spawn on the ground already, I think we would only be able to ressurect the two marines. A theory I have:
In the Vidmaster Challenge (will post new thread) you have to kill all bobs. Me and Kenji have stated that there are BOBs, and CIA and 'asm so them too. You have to play on legendary (or mythic) and only use grenades and fists. This would make it nearly impossible to kill the BOB. Maybe, if you resurrect the marines some how, they will help you, and they are extremely good at fighting. Any thoughts?

Vidmaster? Perhaps. Resurrecting Marines to fight for you -> The only way to complete the Challenge? Never.

I doubted it myself. I'm just still trying to fill in the blanks on why the elites stand up. They put it in the game for a reason.

If the zombieleets stood up because they spawned in the area with 0 health and just died, then you'd be able to resurrect anything that you killed as well.  I don't think that's the case, though.  I can't remember, has anyone tested that?

You can't zombify anything other then elites, so in Halo 3 ODST we couldn't try that. We do know, that the elites spawn, already dead, in a fixed position on the ground.
Title: Re: All Finds: "Lone Wolf" (Mission 11)
Post by: Kenji on October 04, 2010, 03:15:09
nah the spartans are placed there already. and you cant zombify anything there because you need a teammate to spawn and that doesnt happen in lonewolf... (Area too dangerous or some such).

if its a question about which could be zombified anyhow, I think its the spartans, cuz they are already there....

oh and to answer why they are there in the first place... They were S-3s. The S-3 is a cheap knock off of the S-2s, built en mass to go on suicide missions. This broken building might have just been on their route to somewhere else and was destroyed in the process. Or it was the target and the rest of the spartans moved on...

I thought the marines were placed dead in a fixed position on the ground, and the spartans are placed alive but with zero health so they fall? I'm probably wrong though, it's just what I got out of your other post.

In ODST, you could zombify with a small amount of grenades. With four players, 8 grenades could lift spartans or marines. Player 1 kills all other players above a marine, then throws well placed grenades.

But Imppa says you can respawn. Once Imppa gets proof, re spawning may be our new course of action for this.

Guys, I don't think imppa is right on this one. The whole point of Lone Wolf is that it's just a survival mode. If everyone dies, then game over. I could always be wrong, but I doubt that's thecase with this scenario.

Probable bogus theory:
Technically the campaign lobby can hold 16 people, but it won't let you start a game with more than 4 (other Halo games have been like this).  However, has anyone tried loading up Lone Wolf with 16 people in the lobby?  After all, there are 13 extra spartans on the map who aren't dead when the game starts, it follows that maybe they are player characters that load up to allow everyone to play?

The interesting part is that the usual 4 players + 13 dead = 17 spartans, not 16.  Who would the 17th Spartan be?

Besides, I think we should first try the glitch on the others levels where you can respawn. To see if it works at all, you know.

If it will work in relation to zombielites, it will be a unit of the game that doesn't do much... and that starts dead. Can you think of any other unit like this better then dead spartans? The body must be ragdolls, so you for example you cant do the first civilian you see on exodus. In Reach, grenades explode the second something goes off next to it, so it should be extremely easy in Reach. I suggest you try it on a spartan. 3 guys die on top of him, the last guy chucks his two grenades at the body. I'm down for this on Friday if anyone wants to try it.

ill go check exodus right now to see...

...nope, all the civi's there are objects... Using my trick, they arent there at all... the game must create them when they create you.

If they dont move, they dont exist... er, technically...
