Halo Reach General Discussion / Re: Jorge's visor
« on: July 13, 2011, 00:30:26 »
I don't think I recall seeing this phenomenon, but the polarization of the visors is directly correlated with night vision. Recall the cutscene in ODST where Buck says "if you ever fall for a lady, make sure she's got balls." He has his helmet on, and only polarizes it as he turns away. Perhaps it's beneficial to not polarize one's visor when it's not needed?

Anyway, I'm just saying that the different colors of he visors could be due to different polarizing compounds, that are useful in different situations. Unpolarized visors may in fact be the same color as the default visor. Think about transition lenses that you can get for eyeglasses.

The legendary pads are all very difficult to find, if you play through the game normally. You really have to search to find them, while the non-legendary pads can easily be found without extensive searching. You can usually tell if the pad is legendary or not by the location it's in.

We have part of it. Don't we have a complete list for two levels, at least? We've done more extensive work than most. Well, I can't say much about me doing work. Sadly, investigating has fallen to the wayside for me, for the time being.

I concede defeat; the ODST visors are in fact silver. However, the silver visor color you can purchase in Reach is simply too bright to match the past renditions of the ODSTs. I stand by my former preference of the black visor.

Intel / Re: Possible hint at Scarab Gun

EDIT:  Listening to it time and time again has still not shaken the slight "r" that I heard.

After pressing my ear even closer to the speaker than I did before, I can reconfirm what has been said.

The Minority concedes that the Majority's point is valid and stands down.  The Assembly is in agreement.

That LNoS clip would be a perfect example of what we need for the BoB video guide. A compilation of those clips, with explanations between each one describing them. We would have all of the clips for one level on a single video. At least, that's how I picture it.

Which reminds me, I had another BoB encounter yesterday. I found out how easy it is to splatter one of the BoBs on WC. Of course,  I was a bonehead and forgot to save the video :/

SGP Task Force: Ghost Chasers / Re: The Good Samaritan

If I Remember Correctly.

As I said, it's worth a shot.  However, I don't have high expectations.  I have been proven wrong before, though.

I have not seen enemies instinctively get on vehicles.  As a matter of fact, on ODST, if a brute hijacks you, it will immediately jump back off of the vehicle, IIRC.

Nevertheless, it's worth a shot.

No image is attached here, scat.  Might wanna fix it.

Epic... now to do it with Purples.  REAL Purples, not those shoddy imitations there :P

You forgot to provide the video, but I've seen it. Yep, it's cool.

Oops, my bad.

Here it is :/

Intel / Fly the Seraph

Yes, yes, I know, there's tons of videos of flying seraph fighters on LNoS.  This one is interesting, though, because it teaches you how to fly one that is normal size.  And I must say, the detail on it is incredible.

Intel / Re: Achronos explains why BOBs are Elite Light Vehicles

I see, it's only called an Elite Light Vehicle because it needed its own classification, set apart from all the other enemies.  That makes sense.

Intel / New Armor Lock use

Check this and see what else you can do with the Armor Lock.  Have we ever used this for anything?

Oh, I keep forgetting.. Has anyone tried making Zombielites on Halo 3? One level in which I'm sure there are dead Elites is Cortana...

I think people have tried, but it shouldn't hurt to get on and check it out.

However, there is a key difference.  There are live Elites on Cortana, but none on MS.  The Zombification only seems to work on classes that you don't see alive in the level.

On coop, all of the players except the first are Elites.  And they are animated by the Flood, so I'm not sure if that counts as them being "alive".  Because of that, I'm not sure if we could zombify anything on a level with Flood.

Hm, but if the coding for the Flood resurrection is embedded in the coding for the model itself, then it may not work at ALL in H3.

Unless... unless the Flood resurrect the bodies by doing extreme damage to it.  Or, if the normal flag for the Flood was removed, and the Resurrecting on ODST is a side effect of the editing.

Bah, theorizing is useless without actual testing.  Get to eet!!
