Title: Lone Wolf Barrels
Post by: Scatcycle on May 01, 2011, 04:42:36
They may have not created Zombiespartans, but they did make for one hell of a screenshot. (http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/Screenshots.aspx?player=Scatcycle)

Oh, I keep forgetting.. Has anyone tried making Zombielites on Halo 3? One level in which I'm sure there are dead Elites is Cortana...

I'll take the clip.

Imppa has tried on Cortana, but to no avail. It could just be that it was done poorly, no offense, and that it should be retried.

But there is more to know about zombielites. I will post a topic.

I think people have tried, but it shouldn't hurt to get on and check it out.

However, there is a key difference.  There are live Elites on Cortana, but none on MS.  The Zombification only seems to work on classes that you don't see alive in the level.

On coop, all of the players except the first are Elites.  And they are animated by the Flood, so I'm not sure if that counts as them being "alive".  Because of that, I'm not sure if we could zombify anything on a level with Flood.

Hm, but if the coding for the Flood resurrection is embedded in the coding for the model itself, then it may not work at ALL in H3.

Unless... unless the Flood resurrect the bodies by doing extreme damage to it.  Or, if the normal flag for the Flood was removed, and the Resurrecting on ODST is a side effect of the editing.

Bah, theorizing is useless without actual testing.  Get to eet!!

It would be interesting to compare the 'standing up' animations for ZEs and infected Elites, to see if they use the same animation, if ZEs use one at all.

IIRC I did it exactly as in ODST, multiple times, with no succes. But yes, failing is always a possibility, and retrying hurts nobody.

But doesn't it work on Brutes, too? ???

Apparently not, but we have not seen if they stand up at the beginning of the level.

If a barrel is moving, and you armor lock on top of it, you can actually send it through the ground.
Sometimes it will be half submerged in the ground, and will either pop up, or fall beneath the ground. This is hard to do, but once you get the idea it becomes easy. Just get it rolling, jump on it, and armor lock.
