Think about it....really think about it...
Would this not be a reasonable assumption? Reaching the rank of inheritor would only be attained by true fans, would Bungie have done this?
Think for a moment about the last scene, your haunted helmet sitting on the ground, the years you have put in to attain it and the eagle that now rest upon it.....followed by a secret epic ending
I could happen..

If it were like that, practically the only way to see it for even the "true fans" would be trough YouTube.
Seriously, it's way too hard to Reach. And since there is no way to check it right now, we could as well keep searching for it.
-
Yes, I've had this theory for a long time. I assume Bungie.net would have to connect and show that you are a legit Inheritor, online, so that modders couldn't find it. Enigma, I completely agree with you. Will we find it? No, that guy with no life who plays 20 hours a day will. :|

How is it hard to reach the rank? is it hard to get 1000 creds? not really...
All you have to do is play the game... that sounds pretty easy to me...
Time... thats what it takes... and its not hard to spend time... I dont think difficulty has anyhting to do with it...
As for the legendary ending? Why need the max rank? you didnt have to be a 50 to see halo 2 or 3's ending? In my opinion, we are just not doing it right... there has got to be something in the last mission that we are missing... in halo 3, bungie had us jumping through hoops to get the last skull... maybe pressing all the buttons is similar... There are like 50 threads in b.net that have similar theorys to mine though... We just have to be the first ones to actually DO it...
It's simple... Kill all the bobs, find all the data pads, and push all the buttons. On legendary.
THAT's what we should do.

Been done. Multiple times. I don't know why, but it just seems it would fit as the helmet has a see through visor, and there is no face to hide.
Maybe you get an update once you Reach Inheritor. We all know what update that would be. Why not for halo 2? No legendary ending at all. Halo 3? They needed people to know what 343 industries was going to do with Halo.

Do we KNOW that all of the buttons have been pressed? Has anyone from Bungie verified that there are no more hidden switches to be found?
EDIT: Where did the Inheritor rank come from? Is it on Bnet, or something? Or does it owe its name to the same source as the lovely pet, Purple? I haven't had much time to check for myself :-[

LOIDO, Link or didn't occur.

Why not for halo 2? No legendary ending at all.
There was a legendary ending in all the Halo Games. Maybe not in Halo Wars, but that was made by Ensamble Studios.

I thought that happens no matter what difficulty you play on, you just need to finish the credits?

Yes, I'm pretty sure Scat's right. I remember seeing that when I beat it on Normal, I think.
