This thread is a "search party" thread. Use it to organize searches and report their results. This particular thread is limited to the "Long Night of Solace" mission in Halo: Reach's campaign mode. If your Reach discovery was not found in this mission, do not post it in this thread!
FOUND
- Non-Legendary Data Pad
- Heroic BOB
Remaining To Be Found
Unexplained
Notes
- "Long Night of Solace" is the sixth mission in campaign mode. It is the fifth playable mission, since Mission 1 ("Noble Actual") is cinematic only.
-
One of the lines a fellow pilot says is "You can be my wingman any time!" which (I am told) is a Top Gun referance
-
I've just found the Legendary Data Pad on this level.
It's inside the room right before the Saber's hangar, on the left (facing the Sabre) in a red-light zone. It's easy to spot once you're there. Just look around.
Transcription (just like you see it):
PAGE 1 OF 3:
when i first got here and woke from stasi5 the ship was crawling with
colonists from dead worlds it was so crowded i couldn't move i had to
fight to breathe...
PAG 2 OF 3:
<< 2491 >>
[Minutes, strategy session, Assembly Minority]
<< [48452-556-EPN644] is certainly motivated, but will he have what it
takes to follow through with the opportunity when it presents itself? His
submission to UNICOM will undoubtedly spark a renewed interest in the
long dormant ORION. <<
PAGE 3 OF 3:
<< However, it is the opinion of the Majority that merely illuminating
the path leading from [48452-556-EPN644's] thesis back to ORION is
unacceptable. Strong connectivity between a re-launch of ORION and
viable solutions to the Carver Findings must be readily apparent.
Which is to say: easy for our creators to see. <<

Pulse... sorry to rain on your parade, but this isn't the Legendary pad, even if you found it on Legendary difficulty. :(
I just found this in a Normal game with Apollo, Dunder, and Ark.
The good news is that you seem to have discovered that the non-Legendary pads are also viewable on Legendary difficulty.
-
But.. but... :(
-
One of the lines a fellow pilot says is "You can be my wingman any time!" which (I am told) is a Top Gun referance
There is also an achievement by that name, which I earned last night (or early this morning; I can't remember). I neglected to check and see what the achievement was for, though.

Enigma has already provided a description to help find this data pad, so we only need the pictures. Now we have the pictures. Courtesy of ColdGlider Photography.

Someone posted something strange over at bnet, I'll quote it
Posted by: GHXpert59
I was just checking around for anything hidden on the beach part of LNoS and noticed that after you go inside the facility and get the rockets to destroy the wraith, don't destroy it. Instead drop down and hijack it so that you can drive it. Take it, drive it in the water. Note how you DO NOT DIE in the water. Even though the water is more than twice the depth of your height, you don't die. Is it possible something is out in the water?

Well, we have three types of guests:
The rare guest, that is interested in us and our findings
The strange guest, who prints everything (as CG said, might be google caching our site)
The spam guest, who always forgets to log in, but still hit reply and gets an error message, thus the Nothing, or nothing you can see/unknown online function.

I found a BOB today on Heroic. He came down in a drop pod at about 7:50 after I'd commandeered the Wraith and killed a few waves of Covenant. I've held out on this level much longer and I don't ever remember seeing it before, and he was pretty obvious.

Is anyone else in our group looking for them?

The only way I ever find anything is by accident, and when I am not searching. :P
If someone is interested of Bobs and finding them, I reguest that you take a look at the list "Reach Secrets"-group has to offer (visit here) (http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/reachsecrets/Group/GroupHome.aspx). They've assembled quite a list of them.
The Bob you pointed out seems to be found already, though. In your searching of Bobs, there are only 2 levels in which Bobs have not been found, Exodus and New Alexandria. And while some agree that since Exodus only features Brutes, not Elites or Bobs, New Alexandria has no meaning. O.o
-
the one in new alexandria is in the area where you go to enter the club at...
somewhere around there... as far as exodus. IDK If i see the bob again ill post a pic in the correct thread.
Oh and guys... enough with the quotes unless it actually has meaning. Imppa is ok in his last post but the rest of the thread is an eyesore that accomplishes nothing. Imppa has even stated (via quote lol) to stop. /end rant
Oh and @apollo I am (not actively)
-
I play the game when I actually have time, and I always nose around when I play. So yes, I'm searching.
