Does this number mean anything? Found it on the ship. Im going to work with it right now.

According to this website (http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/forum01/index.php?topic=10287.15), the M45A7 is a military vehicle manufactured in the 1940's or 50's.

Similar designations (MXX) are also used for weapons (http://www.olive-drab.com/od_other_firearms_mg_m2_quad50.php).

Not a very satisfying explanation but it may just be a military designation.
