Seems pretty important to me considering that these guys show up in the enemies killed tab in your profile on bungie.net. At the bottom is says they are called BOB and the tag says to wipe them all out when you hover over it. So far no one has found any on Exodus or New Alexandria. I was lurking the same group as Imppa, they have found quite a few of these guys on all the maps other than those two.
