Engineer's reactions to weapons

I'm sure everyone here is aware of the fact Engineers are scared of the human Sniper Rifle.

Could this have anything to do with the fact the first Engineer encounter in ODST (End of Tayari Plaza cutscene) ended when Romeo killed it with a Sniper Rifle?

Just seems logical to me.

Ooo, nice idea. Yeah, that could be right, seems logical.
Remember that they also seem to be afraid of Brute Shot too...

That does seem logical. good theory. They would be afraid of the Brute shot because, probably the brutes harmed the engineers or tortured them with it. 

But then what about the Spikers? ;)

haven't tested spikers, but they are afraid of detached plasma turrets and ghosts when there is a rider in it. (human or otherwise)

I've managed to get a brute to chase me in there but he uh... died (of natural causes I swear) before the engineers could grant him shields. If he has the shielding when he is killed do they explode as if they were attached to his squad?

Oh, and as far as I noticed, they didn't really freak out when the brute was screaming and chasing me...
I watched the video and took a some pics of me screwing around and some other stuff (Including the brute at squidhenge). I'll put them up later though.

That would be one of two things: AWESOME! and CRAZY! could you imagine... You're walking through the streets, all alone, in the dark. Then "WAAAAGGGHHHH!" *BAM!!!!* and you limp body goes flying... or it could go like this.... "Does that guy got a hammer?!" *sneaks closer* *nearby sniper notices you* "(Jackal screams)" You: "Oh, sh**! The hammer guy is coming!" Then you have to dodge the sniper and worry about the now invincable hammer brute chasing you down.


oh ya, and you die....

It would still be awesome though... :)
