Is possible to stop the brutes from putting the bomb on the engineer? I ran into them with a mongoose while they were in the process but I never thought of trying to stop them. I won't be able to play for a while so can somebody try it and see what happens.

We have tried.

You can kill 2 of them before it is activated, but not all 3 with out killing the engineer.

What if we tried going in w/4 players from multiple angles and everyone having snipers?  Does the Engineer already have the explosives on him and the interaction is just a script?  Or do they actually attach them when you show up?

Its hard to tell, but I would think it is script.

Thought about snip'n. The only way you could do that is maybe on legendary since there are more covenant snipers around. The cache with the sniper gun would be imposable to reach since you would have to pass by the Engineer being rigged up.

Look on the plus side.

In halo 3, it was possible to stop the scripted event of the warthog blowing up. So why shouldn't this be possible?

Also, perhaps you could try using stickys? Have catch on and there'll be enough by the time you reach it.

I agree with CS1, three of us with spikes and/or plasma grenades could kill them all at the same time. the only thing we would need to worry about is doing it quick enough. We all are on mongoose (mongooses? mongeese?) and bust in there all fast, jump off, throw nades, and hope the exploding brutes don't kill the poor engineer with their intestines...  :o

i tried with a mongoose to run them over yet i went right through the brute commander(gold brute)

On easy, I stuck one of the brutes holding the Engineer. Somehow, I managed to kill all the 3 brutes with that single Plasma. And the Engineer was still alive after it - Only for a couple of seconds, though. After it "noticed" that the Captain was dead, the bomb started ticking, and it blew up like always (even though the the Brutes hadn't put the bobm in it yet. :P).
