Zombielites are dead elites in the streets of New Mombasa animating to stand up for 3-5 seconds before lying back down again.  The animation is triggered by multiple explosions above the dead elite corpse.

Currently, both elites in Squidhenge and all five elites in the northern Y-glyph alley (near D0604-A) of D06 have been "infected", as it were.

 me and the scatman were messing around in mombasa streets when i start betraying him in the squidhenge for grenades. we then blow all the nades up and this happens

Was it standing by itself and how long was it up? I still feel it was just the wxplosion that made it "stand up" for a sec, but the pictures don't look like that...

we will redo it and find out. hes definatly ALIVE and not just propelled up by the grenade, you can tell by his stance. dead elites dont use that stance XD

what scat said and he was standing for a few seconds then just collapsed and he looked like he was hugging the camera lol XD

and if it was propelled by the grenades he would of toppled over straight away but he just stood there not moving sadly we had killed the engineers as they counted as enemies and scat wouldn`t respawn with them around

you find it creepy lol  :laugh: the creepy part was when i had the camera under him and he wanted a hug

we punched the two elites already next to the henge into it then blew the nades but i wasn`t expecting this

have you tried fixing your box or could you watch it on the interwebz(lol)

if only CG was online and could see this even put it on youtube do people like you can watch it

thanks i`m going to try some time to see if it works with other dead bodies or just them elites

any news on that other elite though i still don`t know if he was also standing

we tried it again and all four elites stood up. with visr on they had no shading around them. it doesnt work on brutes. while we was trying it on a brute the brute the tri glyph appeard. RIGHT while we were doing it. not there, then there. ask me or glitcher for more.

you are fast lol sorry for quiting i had to get off right away but i could try and sneak on later or you can wait for tommorow

BTW if you have 2 controllers you can test on other dead enemies and try bringing them into the henge

Some facts about this report by the SGP KIDZ (well they are the youngest members, I believe!):

1:  It clears VOIDO (http://subculturelifestyle.com/forum/index.php?topic=360.0#post_VOIDO).  Well done.

2:  Squidhenge is visited first by Scatcycle well before any grenade shenanigans take place to cause the standing events.

3:  D06 is bumped when the standing events occur.  It was accidentally bumped when OG hit the D10 preload boundary near door D0410-A after he picks up the nearby COMM Data.  This warps Scatcycle out of Squidhenge to OG's position.  When OG returns to D06 (05:43), the Loading message appears and the bump is complete.  

4:  Scatcycle wanders into the D03 preload boundary at door D0403-B on his way to get the nearby COMM Data (06:31).  This warps OG to Cycle's position.  OG returns to D06 (08:38) and completes a second bump of the already bumped district.  

Nomenclature
"Inner Elite", named due to its location inside of the henge circle:

"Outer Elite", named due to its location outside of the henge circle:

Selected Events (A Time Line)

15:38:  The players both enter Squidhenge.

16:17:  OG melees the Inner Elite

17:12:  OG melees the Outer Elite five times.  This pushes the Elite mostly within the henge.

17:44:  Scat kills one of the Engineers with a melee attack.  He does this because he previously killed OG, who is now getting the "Waiting to respawn (area not safe)" message.

17:50:  Scat begins firing on the second Enginner using his SMG.  

18:40:  The Engineer has ascended VERY high into the air above the henge which is enough distance for OG to respawn.

18:17:  Scat throws down a grenade.  The first explosion causes the Inner Elite to fly backwards.  

18:19:  A second explosion continues to propel the Inner Elite well outside the henge until it hits the ground

18:19:  A third explosion has minor impact.  

18:20:  A huge fourth explosion occurs in the center of the henge which moves the Outer Elite toward the outside.  

18:20:  The Outer Elite begins standing from a face-down position.

18:21:  A fifth explosion happens right on top of the Outer Elite.

18:21:  The Outer Elite is almost fully standing when a sixth explosion occurs in the center of the henge.  The Outer Elite continues to stand until 18:23 when it falls forward.

18:25:  The Outer Elite comes to a complete rest after approximately 3.79 seconds of standing.  During the explosions, OG dies again.  Scat fires on the remaining Engineer again to revive him.

18:50:  OG begins to melee the Outer Elite back into the henge.

18:57:  OG begins to melee the Inner Elite back into the henge.

19:28:  OG shoots the Engineer again to revive Scat.  

19:58:  OG shoots the Engineer again to revive Scat.  

20:38:  OG melees the Outer Elite.

20:48:  OG melees the Outer Elite.

20:59:  Cycle throws a grenade.  The explosion launches the Outer Elite into the air while the Inner Elite remains in place.

21:01:  A second explosion occurs in the middle of henge while Outer Elite is still airborne.  Inner Elite remains in place.

21:02:  A third explosion occurs in the middle of henge while Outer Elite is still (very) airborne.  Inner Elite now becomes airborne.

21:03:  A fourth explosion occurs in the middle of henge.  

21:03:  The Inner Elite begins to stand from a face-up position.

21:03:  A fifth explosion occurs in the middle of the henge while Inner Elite is standing.

21:04:  A sixth explosion occurs in the middle of the henge.   The Inner Elite is now fully standing and the Outer Elite has hit the ground.

21:08:  The Inner Elite begins to fall forward after approximately 5.28 seconds of standing.

21:09:  The Inner Elite comes to rest.


Observations
Both of the elites (Inner and Outer) exhibit this behavior.
The elites stand for 3-5 seconds.
It doesn't matter which way the elites are lying down (face-down or face-up)
The elite begins standing with a large explosion and exactly two more explosions occur right on top of it as it stands.

Recommendations
This needs to be repeated and variables need to be eliminated.  Please document every attempt with a video.

Very well done, guys!  This is exciting!

I dont know if anyone recalls...way back when, I was trying to get that Elite group ( just outside the henge where the empty 'Y' glyphs are) to the henge, in hopes that they would be needed for an event or something. Well anyways I spent like 2hrs or so trying to beat them down and nade em.....it took to long so I gave up. ( agian this was a while ago)

 This was on solo ( no vid ) but the Elites did stand up, this also works with marines or anything dead for that matter.

It is exciting that the SGP KIDZ documented it!

Wonder what I could do with this.... ::)

we didnt bump the district this time. we tried it with a brute. didnt work. But i do say we give it another try. We did it with no engies. We didnt try elites out of the henge though. tomorow morning (for me) we will def try it though. we will also try on tarazy plaza. Another thing thats weird is when we went to opposite of crater to try on a brute the tri glyph wasnt there. once we started betraying for nades it was there after i  had died! strange.

thanks for that huge amout of time you used to make that post coldglider. Also the new one in my file share is updated with more stuff. BTW my tri glyph is there so "i can haz achievment?"

One last note: Elites do not hold weapons like carbine or sniper if you put it next to them. You cant walk through the elites.

Enigma and I did some testing with this.  Our video is here (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=102792093).  We went to the dead Elites under the sniper walkway in D06 (near D0604-A).  We were able to get all five of them to stand together.

This eliminates a few- but certainly not all- variables.

As you can see from Photo 1, the animation will run even while the Elites are being blasted through the air.  In Photo 2 the Elite in the white suit has landed just in time for a photo op.

It is very interesting to me that a "standing up" animation was included in the game for the Elites.  Why would this be needed, and why would it be triggered by the explosions?  The thought that there is some secret way to get Engineers to "repair" dead Elites is tantalizing and might explain why that was included... but I'm not holding my breath.

hey scat i tried with a friend outside the henge but no luck when you get online you wanna try make that assault elite stand up

and we can try and bring a covenant patrol inside the henge and see if they stand

oh and cold i will try the no melee at sometime and try with other dead guys

Do you just kill some buddies so that there are much frags, have Cowbell on, throw in some grenades and that's it?

Hint: you want at least 3 explosions to occur.

The easiest way to make this happen:

!. Play a co-op game.

2. Kill one of the members repeatedly.

3. repeat 2nd until you have a nice amount of nades ( around 15 nade's near the dead boy of choice)

4. Simply thow a nade or 2 at the elite.

5. the blast should detonate most if not all of step 2.

6. now wait and watch ( it will be quick )

 hey i believe you just need 6 nades to do this as awhile back i was trying to do it when a hunter appeared and i threw all 6 nades(using both controllers) and they were standing up

but that assault elite seems weird as he takes alot more explosions to stay up maybe there is someone special about him as he is the only assault elite you find in new mombasa

BTW i was on the game for 40 minutes until i finally got the assault elite to stand so don`t think about pics soon i need to get it done quicker as he was only up for 2 seconds then fell over and there wasn`t any glyphes

also has anyone tried bringing in six elites then doing this trick nades speed things up a lot

Just a note...with 4-player co-op, this would be no problem to do with the engineers, even possibly have a designated guy to stand by to respawn others. (but try it without 'em too, as it's always possible you may need all four players there to unlock stuff)

Off topic :Cold Glider made a intresting discovery a few weeks ago, he moved a plinth in such away that it would show up in a in game cut scene. ( Im sure CG could go into detail)

On topic and theory: I think we could make a fully erected (lol) elite stand up for a duration of a cut scene.

It would have to be done on Campaign Mission: Tayari Plaza ( This is one of the only missions that has dead elites) I think its really the only level we can do it on.

How can we get it to stand that long?

Well I have a sound theory: When ever an In game cut scene occurs EVERYTHING else in and around the environment freezes.

How or why would I think that?

 well...Have you ever been attacked while in a in game cut scene?....answer is no.

This most likely would have to be a Co-op game one person trying to stand the elite while the other gets ready to active the cut scene ( buy opening the Pod door )

 Again this HAS been tested ( with plinths )but should still ring true for the elites. The real a$$ kicker will be getting the elite all the way to the end of the chapter....

CG - please Co-sign and use some of your fancy words.  ;D ;D

so we tried it again with engineers and they didnt do nothing. they didnt notice. they werer there. then odst glitcher propelled himselve past the barriers with fusion coils and found... A BURNING TREE! how funny is that! ask him for pics if he still has them

So has anyone tried getting a plinth in the squidhenge and then animating the elites?  Sounds like a job for Recon Zilch!

I am wondering are the elites dead when we are not in the same district? meaning when we cross the district threshold do we in fact kill them? maybe the elites are standing with weapons in hand and once we cross to the next district it causes them to die....

We know it doesn't work on ODST's (the player) and I don't think it works on anything that was once living. In halo 3 there are a few areas that have enemy's YOU haven't killed and in ODST, so I am thinking that there are requirements to Zombies.

1. They are already dead.
2. You didn't kill it.
3. butt load of nades
4.......umm that's it

I though like that as well Enigma; That's why I tried it in "Cortana" with the dead Elite Bodies. But as I say, it didn't work.
But maybe someone else might want to try it, since I'm not wery good in these occultism things in general.

arg damn tayari plaza it so hard to spell. well yes there are elites? remember when buck says "whats with all the dead elites?" then dare says its classified. there all over the place. and there are two sword handles next to one elite.

well, i think the thing is the elites have to be in a confined space because the first grenade you throw sends them flying away from the other grenades.

But the space is same, right? I mean, I stuffed all the Elites in TP to the same corner where they are in MS, and they didn't come alive!

in tried that aswell on MS no luck but the second time worked i`m gonna stuff them in  corner and get tons of nades

It blows up. :)
BUT I think it wouldn't help, because it's explosion is way smaller than a frag grenade's explosion (you don't die if you stand near an exploding vehicle).

Yeah, I had it work alright. Not like getting all the five to stand up or anything like that, but I had my moments of glory too.

get guests so you can betray for nades and get as much bodies in the henge as possible then blow them up imagine having all 10 elites in that area standing up would be pretty cool and get good screenies
