Welcome, Twiz!  Thanks for joining us!

The short answer to your question is "yes!"

As you may have seen, we have been spending most of our time reorganizing the site.  Please bear with us while we do crazy things like test new forum themes and slowly, painfully, build a website.  We've also been having a big discussion about our name and "brand".

While we've been doing all of this, actually getting into the game to "do what we do" has been sort of a luxury... at least for me.  I'm looking to set my feet back into the New Mombasa streets ASAP, though.  There are a lot of loose ends to tie up.

I see the "wait time" between now and the release of Reach as the perfect time to do this.

You can always begin your own project here and attempt to enlist help from other members.  In the heydey of ODST, this was going on a lot.

If you'd rather focus your hunting efforts on an existing project that we're trying to complete, check out the ODST WIP board (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?board=61.0).
There are three guides currently "In Progress" that we need help with:

I recently began talking with Scatcycle about getting the Cinematic Guide done.

Once a guide has been completed, the idea is to make it "public" by putting it into the SGP Guides board and also adding it to our "Website Archives".  This is one of the things I am working to create now, and you can view an extremely rough version here (http://gruntspajamas.com/game_guides.php?gid=1) in the games section (http://gruntspajamas.com/games.php) of our (very heavily under construction and design) website (http://gruntspajamas.com).

Please note that the WIP boards are "members only".  Guests don't have access (a new change), under the assumption that if they cared enough to see the details of our projects then they probably should become a member!

Anyhow, THANK YOU for becoming a member!  It's a busy time and will only get busier!

Well, I borrowed my ODST disc to a friend (in exchange of Mass Effect 2) and it wont be long until we exchange back.
When that happens the first thing I'm gonna do is this (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?topic=617.0).

Feel free to do it yourself so we can compare results after I do it. ;)

Yes.. Still looking, and finding.

About a week ago, a friend of mine, jedichefdave, was getting bored of Bob bashing (not a euphemism) and found himself wandering down Data Hive just looking., when he came across Morse code emanating from one of the computer consoles, a quick bit of research on Google showed it had be found before buy a few people but nothing had been done about it.

He got me interested and we went back to have a listen, sure enough underneath the beeps and ticks of the computer there was Morse. Half an hour later I had a 27min video of the Rookie stood still, staring at the floor of Data Hive.

But, the Morse was intriguing, short bursts with 15-20sec in between, and they where of different lengths so they weren't the same.

I ripped the sound track from the video, cut it into sections and emailed them to my Dad, who, back in the day - was a ham radio operator and knew Morse code- Yippee.

Two days later I received this little gem,

HW MNI WERE GG TO ST IVES?
THANK GOD ITS YOU

This is as it came, each line is a single burst of Morse, obviously randomly chosen, and for all you young-uns out there who think txt slang is new, please note, this is ITU short hand and has been around since the telegraph.

Sorry if this is all out there somewhere, and please tell us if it is, but we couldn't find anything posted about it anywhere.

PS anybody else think J banners look like punch cards.

Also, this fish do not eat is Soffish.

cheers nightcrafter

I've followed SGP since the beginning, I just don't post often.

Apologies too, I should have included that jedi and I already know this needs no further research..... its all Bungie lore, pretty much. We just thought it needed "putting out there" and I new just the place!!  ;)

That is just outstanding work from you and your father Sep7ember.

NON FACETE NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERINAEUM was first (Correct me if I'm wrong) shown in a Bungie news article (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?cid=25920) back in mid 2010.

Since ODST released back on September 22 in 2009, this would have been quite the egg to find. While it still is, I guess we were meant to find it earlier.

Actually, it's been around a couple of years longer. The trademark by Bungie has been around since '08 or so. Not a noob at all. Does the use of latin not strike you as relating to the new IP? Sure, the motto has been around, but the new IP has been referred to a lot with Latin. Obviously this new way of motto is relating to the new IP, it even has a picture of it in the story. So now, this new use of latin hasn't be around all this time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bungie has only referred to their new IP with one latin phrase, "Per Audacia Ad Astra". And the phrase you're talking about is a Bungie Trademark. The use of latin does not strike me as relating to the new IP, it strikes me as a classic Bungie saying. Just like the other ones heard in the morse code. I don't see how it relates to their new IP.

And what picture?

They suddenly start using Latin when connecting to the new IP? Doesn't spark any idea in you? The classic english phrase is fine. There's no reason they would change it. And for the picture I mean the starry map background thing.

What Latin?!?! Bungie has been using Latin before they even started thinking about this new IP. Conspire what you want, but I think it's more of a just Bungie being traditional by using Latin for their new game, rather than hint at something by using that said Latin.

Find me a some evidence that Bungie is using Latin specifically for Destiny and not just because they're Bungie, then we'll talk.

Edit: I asked the Bungie Mail Sack, and it seems there isn't a correlation between the use of latin and their new IP. See the very last question. (http://www.bungie.net/News/Blog.aspx?mode=news#cid32042)

Great find Sep7ember,

"frog blast the vent core"  kind of stands out to me...

Scetcycle, nightcrafter, and myself spent some time about a year ago grenade jumping up into all of the vents we could find and following them as far as they went.

They all turned up to dead ends though.

I wonder what the vent "CORE" is,and where it could be.

Might be worth some looking into....

Frog Blast the Vent Core is actually a phrase. It's just a saying that Bungie has had since Marathon. (http://marathongame.wikia.com/wiki/Frog_Blast_the_Vent_Core)

I'm going to be mildly offensive and use the generic term "you guys" but...

You guys should put together a video guide or perhaps a post on one of the major Bungie/Halo websites (HBO, Bnet, Waypoint) about the Plynths or Glyphs or whatever.  I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but if it's some sort of weird in-game mystery I'm sure a lot of people are going to be interested.  Just a thought.

We have guides on these things here (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?board=55.0). Unfortunately, many guides are still in development and have been "halted" due to a lack of work. We should really finish those...

hey peeps
Also new to the forum, but have been following for a while and hunting with Sep7ember for even longer,
Just saying hi to all and we are very much still hard at work, I believe we have missed a huge Easter egg in the odst and believe the j banners and controller possibly hold the key as to my knowledge they have not been fully cracked? correct me if I'm wrong please?
I think we should all have 1 last push before destiny appears.
my reason is this http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?topic=1738.0
the letter from Dan miller is it me or did he say "yes you have missed something and its glyph related" at the time every1 seemed to be more focused on bobs? again please correct me if I'm wrong?
Anyhow greetings all

He does imply that there IS a secret, along with that he himself doesn't even know what it is. I don't think there's ever been a recorded sighting of the di/mono glyph since the first month of ODST so honestly I'd guess it's been patched or something. QTA may possibly still be at large, but I remember seeing that there was a QTA (quick time application) released on 06/12, hence the VI XII. There's also the random detonator at the bottom of Oni Alpha Site, which we haven't been able to do anything with.

But the fact that it's this late and no one has found anything yet just goes to show one of two things: It's not there, or it's hidden with extreme/excessive work. With the amount of games spent on ODST in Mombasa streets, someone would have found it most likely by chance. So I'd guess it's one of those nonsense things where you have to jump through a bunch of rings in a random order. There's not much we can do about that.

Thanks for the reply Scratcycle.
I personally am of the opinion that its been very well hidden and that we've missed it.
Why would they patch it out??
The thing that is bugging me is, there seems to be so many seemingly dead ends.
There is a lot of info on the controller that has amounted to nothing however it seems to relate to the camera's in Sadie's story and there's nearly an hour of footage, which I believe was created by a bunch of guys who specialised in making ARG. I think QTA appears in the cameras? The Time stamps are frustrating and also the subliminal message 06 stuff?? Along with the glyph code as seen on wikibruce?? maybe some or all of these are the clue/s we are missing rather than jumping through hoops on MB??
Your absolutely right in that it is very late in the game and most people are well past all this and waiting intensely for destiny , me too!!
But a couple of weeks ago I was scrolling through some random webpage and noticed that the geomantic symbols for the golden tickets are the same format as the J banners which to my knowledge are also still a mystery, so far I haven't been able to make anything of that but its the only close/ish format I have seen for a code that at least has the right number of dots??
But anyway It got me back into the whole thing all over again.

Please share your thoughts.

oooh  and when you look at geomancy there are lots of references to stone circles and magic squares ??

PS anybody else think J banners look like punch cards.

YES!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card)

Each of the three J-Banners have 4 rows.  Stacked on top of one another, you get 12 rows... the standard punch card format.

The issue to resolve is why there is a max of 9 punches in a column.  There was a 1969 ANSI standard named in honor of Hollerith which might fit.  (6 "bits" per character, two per column) which would yield 56 characters if we can find that encoding format specification.

EXCITING.  Thanks, Sep7tember!  Punchcard: Go!

Do you think, its possible that, if the j banners are a form of punch card that maybe they are not stacked up but instead are placed on a 12x28 grid one at a time? and table could be found in game, or in Sadie's story or something along these lines??
have spent the last couple of nights with Sep7ember on this but the more eyes on the better.

Also have the Subliminal messages been fully explained in the wallpapers? I have been having another look over them as there are so many references to subliminal msg 06 in the game but so far have not come up with anything new.

Someone who understands punchcards better than me is going to have to take a crack at it. Be careful though, with all the possibilities for the dots to encode bits, most methods are going to turn up gherjz.

Also CG, I've lost about four hours of my life to that website. I want them back.

I spent a significant amount of time analyzing the combined J-Banners (28x12 grid) and necroposted to the old J-Banner thread (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?topic=228.msg12195#msg12195).  Might as well go over there if we're going to talk banners again.

The QTA Patch has a thread over here (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?topic=248.0) in Theorizers.

Also over there is a thread dedicated to the Hollow Men Theory (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?topic=167.0).

Sep7tember's epic post touches on many of these theories together, so I am going to move it to Theorizers as well.

As for Destiny issues (geomancy, etc) that should take place here (http://www.gruntspajamas.com/forum/index.php?board=104.0).

I'm very happy to see more discussion about these topics!
