Intel / Dark Hall on Final Level
« on: December 12, 2009, 22:28:22 »
Story time.

Me and my friend were on Coastal Highway legendary, and we were at the final part. Somehow I knocked a barricade over and it landed on me, stopping me from escaping but allowing me to move around by meleeing. After a wave or two, I lined up against a big shutter to make me invincible to damage. My friend got sticked and died, and respawned behind it. It was a massive hallway - free movement, and seemed to go on for a while. I immediately (and poorly) told him to kill himself straight away, in case the chieftain came and I respawned behind there with him, making our legendary run fruitless. Thinking back to it, the hall looked too detailed to not hold something. The blackness was interesting, and I'm going to attempt this again with my friend on a later date.

Could anyone look into this? The shutter was in the east car-park, and the barricade was south and slightly west from the shutter. I knocked it over with grenades, specifically all 3 frags.

I do this a lot on co-op, nothing. So if this turns up anything it's definitely something to only be done on solo.

Theorizers / Returning to Halo CE...
« on: November 28, 2009, 23:21:10 »
Recently the 'Warning: Hitch-hikers may be escaping convicts' phrase has been stuck in my head. That's made me think... has anyone tried to replicate Halo: CE by doing the final level in just the warthog?

I remember my friend mentioning finding a banshee in Mombasa streets, still alive. He destroyed it in shock though, and hasn't seen one since.

That might be useful, though there's no clue where to start.

Look on the plus side.

In halo 3, it was possible to stop the scripted event of the warthog blowing up. So why shouldn't this be possible?

Also, perhaps you could try using stickys? Have catch on and there'll be enough by the time you reach it.

Are the beeps exactly the same length, or are some longer than others? I'm just thinking that it may be Morse Code.

While I don't think it is possible to kill their squad without them exploding, so (and I'm kind of combining this theory and the 'no combat' theory here) what if the requirement is to not fight any of these engineer protected squads at all, since that is the only currently known way to keep them alive.

Sorry, me and my friend proved that false yesterday. We spent half an hour looking for secrets (we search on normal. That's the last place Bungie'd think we look) but nothing different happened, other than being murdered endlessly by the brute leader. We even tried killing certain members of the squad, no luck. In the end we left the sector because my friend thinks the Engineers look cute (who doesn't?) and objects to killing them, even via brute leader.

I can't get a photo, but I own a controller, so here's a few things written on it:

PROPERTY OF UNSC
Unit weight: 265g (Fueled)
105mm x 154mm x 64.3mm

H3-0
1ε100 0x

(There is a picture of two triangles, they look similar to a failed attempt at a David's Star) 7 (They appear in the top-right of this: http://www.bungie.net/images/ads/vertical_banners/bnet_03_vert_ad_200.jpg )

KIKOWANI.0624
23:03:28:30

K97.28.0003303.D0

That's all I can get. The rest is too small to see, though I can see the 55.6992.3850 vaguely.

Possible corruption, but not entirely sure

Theorizers / Engineer's reactions to weapons
« on: November 01, 2009, 13:52:20 »
I'm sure everyone here is aware of the fact Engineers are scared of the human Sniper Rifle.

Could this have anything to do with the fact the first Engineer encounter in ODST (End of Tayari Plaza cutscene) ended when Romeo killed it with a Sniper Rifle?

Just seems logical to me.
