ODST General Discussion / Re: SGP: Video Capture Service
« on: January 31, 2010, 20:20:44 »
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I spent five minutes twiddling around in free cam trying to get VISR on.  The best I could do was turn up the brightness.  You are a Saint.

I recorded it with the Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR in 720p, need to get a 1080p television and then I'm doing brodcasts like that.

Edit:  Oh yeah, the bumpy is probably the editing I did on yours.  I had a load of dead time, so I cut most of it.

To download these use a youtube downloader.  I don't have an effective way to host the physical file.  If you want the physical non-uploaded file, send me a link with a method to upload it to a hosting site.  Notes about the video are in the description.  Videos will be removed on the 1st of March.

-----------------------

If anyone needs any video clips rendered at any time just post here and update the post if you get more videos by following the format posted below..  I will check each day.  I own an HD capture card, so this will allow us to document any discoveries without the bungie pro minutes.

Video posting format:

[Video: (URL HERE)  Clip start: XX Clip end: XX  Clip details: (Details on your discovery here)]
[Video: (URL HERE)  Clip start: XX Clip end: XX  Clip details: (Details on your discovery here)]
[Video: (URL HERE)  Clip start: XX Clip end: XX  Clip details: (Details on your discovery here)]
*Update XX/XX/XX (Date)*
[Video: (URL HERE)  Clip start: XX Clip end: XX  Clip details: (Details on your discovery here)]
[Video: (URL HERE)  Clip start: XX Clip end: XX  Clip details: (Details on your discovery here)]

And so forth.  So if you want any discoveries uploaded I'd be happy to do it in HD.

And please remember to use the update as shown above if you add more videos.  I'd rather not have anyone breaking the new 3 post rule.  Keep all comments within the original post as well.

Theorizers / Re: SGP: Saving the Engineers?
« on: November 03, 2009, 12:39:41 »
I can't get proof of it, but I can confirm that I've saved the lives of about two engineers.  Unintentionally, and at the same time while I was trying to kill them, but they did escape without exploding.

That is most likely to save space.  Bungie probably starts all maps with a mega template, and then makes the environment detailed where it needs to be for each map.  Any spot you're not supposed to go NORMALLY shouldn't have detail.  Then again, Siege of Mardigal normally isn't in a normal position.

SGP Task Force: Black Ops / SGP Pan Cam
« on: October 30, 2009, 20:42:38 »
Couldn't find this posted anywhere...  So here's a guide on how to do it.
This tutorial is how to get pan-cam in halo 3. This "Pam-Cam" is when you could go through all barriers and EVERYTHING in a map.

LB+RB+LS+A+ Down ON D-PAD
then
LB+RB+LS+RS+A+UP and LEFT ON D-PAD
Note:This must be in local play on custom games or campaign.
Co-ordinates should appear on your screen with the word [pan-cam] after them.
Doing this in single player is much easier.
Once you have got the pan-cam to work jump off of the edge of the map,
or find a way to kill yourself and cover up your dead body,(i.e. drop a
crate on your head.)
Now end the game.
Open theater and watch the game you just played (with pan-cam still on)
Watch the film right as you jumping off the edge of the map, or covering up your dead body. (you cant fast-forward because its in pan-cam mode)
Note: It should still say pan-cam on the screen
Press Y to enter free cam
Notice the D-pad
If you press up on the D-pad the speed of the pan-cam will increase
Down will decrease it.
Now the tricky part:
increase the speed of the camera enough so that the camera will fly out
of the maps barrier. (for me its about 60,000 speed to fly out)
One tap of the movement stick should to the trick!
You should see a red, black and blue scratchyness at the top of your screen almost as soon as you exit the barrier.
Try to turn around
If:
1 You turn around and the screen blurs and you can't see anything of
detail press Y to go back and view you character. (this is because you
went to fast out of the barrier, try slowing down a little bit) Rinse and
repeat at a slower speed.
2 You turn around and see the map from a very far distance. Nice job you
you have done it correctly, lower you speed and explore!

This can be used tofind much outside ofmaps

Theorizers / Re: SGP: Destroying Henges...
« on: October 29, 2009, 20:27:38 »
Well, I punched the (non)living crap out of the squid henge and I never saw any changes, on the other hand I found a grunt patrol just outside the door of squidhenge and managed to "convince" the brute to step inside. He never got shields though and we scuffled for a bit before he killed me. I was trying to look around and he caught me against a corner.

Another note: The engineers are afraid of the human sniper rifle in addition to brute weaponry.

Not the squid henge, punch the lights surrounding them.  They are also found in a few other areas of the city.

Theorizers / SGP: Destroying Henges...
« on: October 29, 2009, 01:05:12 »
The lights of the henges are either destructable or you can turn them off.  I didn't pay attention to which it was.  It happens if you melee them twice.  Perhaps this could be part of the henge.  Perhaps removing evidence of the henge, AKA playing co-op, killing engineers. removing pliths, getting rid of elites, and destroying all the lights could lead to something.  We keep adding things to these henges, well maybe we should be making them barren.
