I found a BOB today on Heroic.  He came down in a drop pod at about 7:50 after I'd commandeered the Wraith and killed a few waves of Covenant.  I've held out on this level much longer and I don't ever remember seeing it before, and he was pretty obvious.

Is anyone else in our group looking for them?

This guy is the first one to beat every level on Mythic difficulty, so far he hasn't seen any kind of Legendary eagle ending.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Re: Vidmaster Challenge

I am pretty sure it goes like this:
-Total Carnage = Legendary Difficulty
-Kill ALL Bobs = What the text says!
-Punch all switches = Activate all switches

What we should first do is to find All the switches and Bobs. THEN, playing.

Doesn't Marathon have 5 difficulties, not 4?  That would imply that Mythic = Total Carnage.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Re: One man, against all odds.

I've heard "One man against all odds." as Marine dialogue in both this level and once elsewhere.

As for defeating the Covenant at the facility door, I've used this section of the game for most of the Campaign challenges, including the ones where you kill 50 Elites and 150 enemies in Campaign.  Nothing interesting happened to me but it was also on Solo and I wasn't really looking.

There's one in the most downloaded files list ingame.  Haven't tried it, but I think its just called Turf.

I am actually glad they waited for MM, Reach is so feature-rich that they can afford to not blow their load right at release.  Kinda like how ranks are locked after Lt  Colonel right now.

Is this before you can actually jack the banshees?  If not, then they are double redundant.

Its a graph showing your wins (positive) and losses (negative).  The number is the streak of wins.

It was a big invasion, Reach was a big planet...

The question is:  why are they all piled up around a random broken building for Noble 6's last stand?

Just have to point out one canonical error in your post:  both the UNSC and the Covenant had encountered the Flood in the shieldworld in Halo Wars.  Some of the Covenant fled, but the UNSC forces were left without FTL communications or engines so they were unable to alert the rest of humanity.  ONI has also clearly been aware of the Forerunner for many years by the time Reach falls, so its possible they know about the Flood as well.

That Guy, every time you post I just get more and more jealous that your Gamestop is cooler than the ones near me.

As an idea for the meaning of the content:  could this be another conversation between AIs...  maybe Cortana and Auntie Dot?

Halo Reach General Discussion / Re: DATA PAD times (not dates)
« on: September 18, 2010, 16:23:08 »
To counterpoint my own theory, maybe they are Gregorian calendar dates...the ones here are sourced from HBO's very comprehensive Halo timeline.  From 2525 on there's just too many events to post for each year.  Many (but not all) of the 4 digit dates are listed, many of the others could be inferred from events within the books.

2310     The Earth government unveils the first in a line of colony ships; given conditions on Earth are deteriorating in the face of overpopulation, hitching a ride out to a colony becomes a highly attractive option. Additionally, the Earth government plans to attach military personnel to each colony, to help better utilize the massive (and expensive) standing fleets. Because FTL travel is still fairly new and expensive, colonists and military personnel face a stringent regimen of physical and mental testing. In theory, only the best-qualified citizens and soldiers are allowed to colonize "nearby" worlds. This is the birth of the Inner Colonies; typically Inner Colonials are—later in the timeline—considered the elite, the best and brightest.
