This is a video I made in about an hour about BOBs. There is no use for it, but I just wanted to post it.

There is an important part, and it's the order of spawns. You'll see if you watch the video.

Before the basically non-existent Social Gathering happened, I was fooling around on Exodus. I figured out that if you go to activate the Elevator, while you have to defend hordes of Covenant, if you go off into the side exit, you can get out of the map. This side exit is the one where you see Phantoms land. But this only works if you still have sprint. Do not get armor lock.

Here is a video of this on my fileshare. If anyone could render it, it would be fantastic.

It's hard to explain without a video, but here's what you do: Facing back where you first fight brutes, you jump on the railing. You then turn left while still on the railing, basically pointing at the first phantom with three Brutes in it. Right as the railing changes direction, fall down onto the table below. You will be given a 10 second death barrier, so quickly sprint down the stairs and jump over another railing. You should hit an invisible wall, which should slow your descent so you don't fall to your death. Right when the counter gives you 1 second to live, you should hit the ground below you. The counter will stop.

There is not much to do on this platform, as there are barriers right in front of you, but turn around, and you should see a cliff. Below are cables used to transport resources. There is a fog, so you cannot see the bottom of this mechanical canyon. You will surely die if you jump. But jump anyway. You will fall a bit, then start floating. Now there isn't much to do here, because there is a barrier a bit farther, but there is a resource box which might just be where a BOB spawns. It is physical, which is very strange, because it is way below you. There are many other grooves and strange places, the BOB could be there as well.

Monx and I went over to this canyon yesterday. While floating above the fog, I killed Monx. His body fell and quickly disappeared in the fog. We then both agreed to play ODST, so I opened my disk drive. This immideiatly forced me to exit the match/game, so to Monx's perspective, while still in the game, my body died. Since Monx was viewing the third person of my body, he was able to see it fall through the fog. Then he saw something. I don't really know what, he said maybe a light, or something. Monx will provide a better explanation for this. Could there be something beneath the fog?

Report In! / New Progress Reveals there is more to Zombielites
« on: May 01, 2011, 15:57:37 »
So Nade, Monx, and myself are trying to create Zombielites on Tayari Plaza, to disprove and prove many theories. We pile up all the elites in a corner, and start betraying.

We step back, and light the pile. Sadly, no Elites stand up. So we run in and start hitting them. Guess what happens.
Every time we hit an Elite or even an ODST, they would stand up for a hundredth of a second before falling to the ground. It happened to every single ODST or Elite we hit.

One stray Elite that was blasted away from the pack was unique. Every time I hit him, he would do a fast barrel roll, which is normally impossible with normal Halo physics. Due to my beatings, he did a barrel roll about five times. But then I saw something. I wasn't hitting him, and then he just had a small spaz. It wasn't like the normal spazzing we see, it was a small shift. This is exactly what happens when resurrected Elites fall back to the dead.

ODSTs now, I really don't know what to say. I'll try and get theater clips.

The video can be found here.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Zombielites
« on: April 26, 2011, 03:48:41 »
We should feel ashamed that we never tried to resurrect bodies in Reach.

Let's get this going.

Lone Wolf: Limited grenades, but Spartans are the exact models we want. Spawn dead. The marines spawn alive, so they are a no.
Go ahead, put all barrels in one place and blow stuff up. I don't know, just try everything!

Anyone got any other levels?

Phantasm was wondering if we could cinematically glitch lonewolf if we found the spot where Six dies.

This led me to think, "What if we put an explosive barrel there?". Remember, as displayed by the Brute Chieftan in ODST that hit the boxes out of the way on NMPD, Halo uses its engine to portray the cinematic.

This means, if we were to put a barrel in the cutscene, would an elite shoot it, blow it up, and be killed by it?
If we were able to put it right into the path of the shots, the shots should hit it. This is also shown in the NMPD cutscene where the brute hits the boxes off the platform.

This could lead to an alternate, or at least messed up, ending. I vote we try this at the Social Gathering.

At checkpoint bravo, you are greeted by two falcons. If you get in these falcons, and then shoot enough marines, you will jump out of the falcon, have no weapon, and die in 3 seconds. You die no matter what. You are defaulted to the sprint AA.

When the marines turn on you, you eject, run around like a chicken with its head cut off, and mysteriously die. This has been seen by many people here before but I'll document it here.

Enigma would love this...

Me and Nade were out of Exodus, along the trail you take with the falcons (checkpoint Bravo), and we found a room. This is the room where Civilians and Brutes spawn. Note, this is not the place where you see a Brute with a hammer. It is later, when you are in the half canyon.

This room has a door. You cannot open the door. But there is something else that's odd. If your spartan dies next to the door, when you respawn, as long as you are near the door, your body will turn.... Purple?

Me and Nade have the same color. Grey. That screenie is a comparison between Purple and Not. Here, I have killed Nade, but not has killed me. So I remain grey. Here's another shot:

We cannot tell if there is anything behind that door. Even an extremely fast camera cannot penetrate the door.

If you wish to see more screenshots of purple please view here.

Here's a good VISR shot for both Nade and I.

Any thoughts?

Theorizers / Insane Monx's Theory
« on: March 22, 2011, 23:26:19 »
Insane Monx (a b.net user) messaged me about a theory he had regarding Zombielites. Here it is:

Quote from: Insane Monx
You know... if that's theories correct...

Would there be any other things in the game (including other levels) that have negative health counters to keep from disappearing?

It's a really long stretch, but maybe you can do that with some of the blown-up vehicles sitting around. Then again, you might just get a big boom either way :/

/Crazy Theory

This was after I had posted Pulses Theory, about the health counter.

This is interesting, because this could actually be true. Anyone want to try this? We need broken vehicles that are movable, such as the broken ghost next to the hallway with shotgun ammo. I know there is a broken warthog in the same district as the Tri Glyph, but I don't know if it is movable or cemented down (my way of saying scenery, not actual object).

Anyone want to try this? If this works... Warthogs in Mombasa streets! Wraiths in Mombasa Streets! Although they may only repair for a couple seconds, it would still be the coolest thing ever.

A searching party compromised of me and Phantasm were out on Winter Contingency. We got to the part where Jorge throws the flare, and you try to kill the zealot elites.

Instead of chasing after them, we decide to see how high we can get inside the room (altitude, nigma). We manage to get up to these windows. Phantasm is brought down by the strength of my bullet, and spawns inside the room with windows. Kinda like a vent. It's nothing special, but it's pretty cool. Maybe Phantasm can get the pictures.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Cinematic Glitching? It's back.
« on: March 14, 2011, 02:12:30 »
Me and 'asm were out on winter contingency, and figured out it works in Reach too.

We actually lagged out tons of sound effects, and reduced the frame rate by A LOT.

BOBs / BOB Findings
« on: March 13, 2011, 16:32:00 »
Did some bob research. The BOB on Nightfall MAY start over by the broken bridge. You can get here  by turning left when you should be going right to continue on with the mission, at the start.

Since there are (insurrectionists?) dead on the broken bridge, and the BOB spawns nearly on top of them, I assume it's meant to show that the BOB killed them.

BOBs Despawn. They do  not shrink.

This is what the BOB looked like right before he disappeared.

Halo Reach General Discussion / It IS the Gray Codes!
« on: March 12, 2011, 19:03:22 »

It was Gray Codes after all. I was right...

But this does not seem to fit a 3 bit grid... I do not understand.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Barcodes
« on: March 11, 2011, 00:09:15 »
I just scanned the attached barcode. Look what it found:

Found barcodes:
1 : Code39, HALSEY, page 1, {X=538,Y=669,Width=417,Height=27}

The code is:
Code: [Select]
HALSEY
Yes! This means that the barcodes actually translate to something! Send me every barcode you find, because this could be big.

I'm working on as much as I can. Got a barcode? Post it.

EDIT: Barcode on packaging of journal:
Code: [Select]
X16-69868-01
