Halo Reach General Discussion / Net chatter: Busting Myths.
« on: May 19, 2011, 16:55:08 »
I have heard that you can kill pilots for scripted events. Events like the fly by during New Alexandria, by doing this another pilots will jump in and take you on a Unscripted flight. (No evident)

Riding the Falcon. If you play co-op on WC and everyone gets out except one player the Falcon should still be hovering low enough for some head jumping to get above it. Once the last player gets out the players on top of the falcon should get a nice ride. Pending no kill barriers. (Just a theory)

I have not done this but I guess you can pilot Jun's Falcon during WC. First you need a plasma pistol, over charge it at Jun and he should come tumbling down. The trick is the falcon needs to flip over, once it flips the pilot eject allowing you to take over. People are claiming that they cant get to the next section and finish WC but there is another trick that will allow you to fly to where the stand off at the gate happens. If you save the marines a pelican will drop down to rescue the survivors, you must position your falcon on top front so that when it takes off it pushes you past the boundary allowing you to reach the last part. (I have not done this but I see a ton of people claiming to have done this)

If you have something to try or heard of something we should try post it

I had a pretty cool idea, an idea that I can not join in but still pretty cool.

4 player Co-op

Player 1: MJOLNIR Mark V - Gold visor
Player 2: MJOLNIR Mark VI - Gold visor
Player 3: ODST - Silver Visor
Player 4: Noble 6 - default

= Legendary

Halo Reach General Discussion / Reaching new areas
« on: May 12, 2011, 16:13:45 »
While playing Nightfall I noticed a closed gate in the base just before meeting the Guda (forgot how to spell it). So I spent about 30mins or so gathering up all of the forklifts, I think there is 3 or four and piled them into the corner (as seen on attach map). Each FL push the next FL a little bit higher, to the point where I was able to Jump over the Gate. Unfortunately nothing was found but it game me an idea.

While you guys are playing see if you notice inaccessible areas or heights not normally reach by normal means. Vehicles and weapons are key for single player use but playing 4 player co-op is the ultimate ladder.

Feel free to see if you can jump the gate, you may even be able to REACH a new spot if you are playing co-op.

Intel / Exodus Ice skating and such

I should post this before someone steals it.

Fast forward:

At the end of this chapter you must start some cannons or something, instead run along the coast line, past the Wraith until you REACH a piece of drift wood between the cliff and the water.

Now the trick part. walk on the drift wood, looking straight ahead you will see a ledge and if you jump and jetpack you should be able to make it. once here you have a huge area you can freely explore.

Points of interest:

Loner marine - so far I haven't noticed anything different from this guy, other than him being alone. He might just be a lucky AI from the previous attack.

Skating Ring - When you jump in the water you just float like you are jet packing...its pretty fun.

Crash ship - During a cut scene you see a civilian ship get shot down - you cant really do anything with it but you can get a better look at it.

Work-In-Progress (Halo: Reach) / Armor abilities and you.
« on: April 19, 2011, 22:39:58 »
I am kind of surprised no one has brought this up.

I am sure some of you have seen that video where some guy was able to hijack a ....what ever its called. He used Armor lock to pass over the kill barrier. This made me think, you can REACH places or do something that you wouldn't normally be able to do depending on what AA you have equipped.

I cant clear this jump - Sprint
I cant get up that high - Jetpack
I cant get on that ship with out falling - Armor lock

It might be a good idea to notate where AA's are and if there are areas that can be found while using them.

UPDATED: (a little clearer)

Armor Lock -

www.igameanswers.com/halo_reach/halo-reach-glitch-how-to-fly-a-seraph-no-mods.html

To do this you need AL...this can NOT be done unless you have AL..

Now think about other instances on where this same application can be used.

Armor lock allows the user to 'Sticky' them self to any surface, you can literally AL on top of a moving Banshee or any ship for that matter. This can allow us to travel into areas that wouldn't be normally accessible.

Jet packing -

I believe I showed this to Kenji..not sure who else. On New Alexandria ( I think ) where you first get the jet pack, there are several areas that you can access that without it you wouldn't normally. Places like the death hallway: named that because waling half way down kills you. After getting to the last section of the chapter there is a way to nearly head all the way back to where you first enter the hornets. Heading this way will allow you to meet a lone trooper.

Also using the jet pack allows us to REACH on of the switches during the Package which grantees access to the tribute room.

Sprinting -

It the default ability but with it you can run and jump further (if running). Without it you wouldn't be able to run down that BOB at the start of the first mission.

Hologram -

This would be useful to locate invisible walkways, invisible pitfalls and the like. I cant really think of a time I used it...

Bubble shield -

I cant see any use for this.

Cloaking -

I cant see any use for this.

Player Combos!

jet packing stacking. REACH no heights by standing on a player with a jet pack to further your REACH, Jump, jet jump jet, jump jet.....

Now mapping out where and when AA's are accessible might clue us in on if there is a Secret/ switch/ glitch/ exploit.

Intel / The MAP to the secret treasure?
« on: March 14, 2011, 22:41:43 »
Maybe I will clean this up later...maybe. Here I would like to only discuss the Map that came with the Legendary Reach.

tides kill this

Ne menj oda - Don't go here

Silt - is granular material of a grain size between sand and clay derived from soil or rock. Silt may occur as a soil or as suspended sediment (also known as suspended load) in a surface water body. It may also exist as soil deposited at the bottom of a water body.

flow - To move with a continual change of place among the particles or parts, as a fluid; to change place or circulate, as a liquid; as, rivers flow from springs and lakes; tears flow from the eyes.

The c shift - In the fire department culture, work is usually divided into 3 shifts, or platoons; A, B, & C shift. The C shift is the spawn of the A & B shift, when fire departments became busier with higher call volume. It was necessary, to have an extra shift, in order to get the other shifts longer group days off for rest & recovery

SWO - SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER.

Intel / Halsey's Journal:
« on: March 10, 2011, 19:13:23 »
Why has no one scanned this?

We should Have detailed scans with zooming capabilities. I know several of you have a copy, so the question is who is going to do it ?...

We need maps and front to back scans of the entire book.

Why do we not already have this?

Intel / What If there is hidden armor within Reach?
« on: March 03, 2011, 00:27:38 »
This got me thinking..

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=56561871&postRepeater1-p=1

From what I understand NEW armor can NOT be added to Reach...not unless it already exists.

FACT: Never before seen helmets have been seen in pictures and video of the new DLC

FACT: New armor can not be added to Reach

FACT: Bungie stated on the BWU that there is no NEW armor with the incoming DLC

So what do we do?

There are 3 ways to gain armor.

1. By code (Flaming Recon)

Getting codes from pre-ordering and store bonuses like the beer bottle belt.

2. Rank/ Money (If you have the Cr and Rank)

Obviously as you rank and gain Cr you can unlock/but new armor.

3. Halo Way point ( Due a Task get some armor)

By downloading and competing a few minor tasks you get to unlock Way point exclusive armor. The only way to get this stuff is through Way point.

From what I understand 343 created the new maps for the upcoming map pack and Bungie is turning over the franchise into their highly capable hands, so would it be so far fetch that 343 get to keep some goodies to dangle in front of Halo fans?

Come here kiddies, I have some candy!!

I for one think that we WILL see more armor and it will only be unlocked when 343/ Way point says so.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Achievements / DLC
« on: November 30, 2010, 21:00:17 »
I kinda wanted to knock out all of the new achievements all at once.

I am not talking about full party boosting...Well I guess I am.

Do you have the Noble maps?
Do you want to get all the achievements...quickly?

Lets pick a day, time and set it up.

Halo Reach General Discussion / Winter contingency Whack a mole?
« on: November 11, 2010, 18:15:22 »
Its hard to explain, at the very end on this mission where you have to activate the power, just before the power switch room there is power cores that move up and down. Do you think this might be a secret game? like whack a mole?

I played around jumping core to core, only one of them goes all the way down...at least from what I saw. But who is to say this isn't like the IWHBYD skull..or I guess it could be another Squid hedge.

blocks are like the attach

26
Think about it....really think about it...

Would this not be a reasonable assumption? Reaching the rank of inheritor would only be attained by true fans, would Bungie have done this?

Think for a moment about the last scene, your haunted helmet sitting on the ground, the years you have put in to attain it and the eagle that now rest upon it.....followed by a secret epic ending

I could happen..

Halo Reach General Discussion / Lone Wolf:..stuff
« on: November 08, 2010, 22:38:21 »
Played with Pulse and Twisted for a little bit today. Pulse wanted to see if there was any changes in enemies after the sword wielding elites roll up.

I didn't notice anything change, but I did notice that once the grunts were cleared from the area...no more grunts showed up. Also when all of the white armored elites were killed......they stop showing up, of coarse they are replaced with the yellow/orange elites who carry swords and those cannon things.

Also take a look at the weapon info (Select button) the info is missing and when you have a sword it doesn't show up...weird.

(this was all done on easy)

Wraiths: These mothers may have something to em. The wraiths are about 4-5secs past the boundary, it takes 1 second to get in it (if its Unoccupied) and probably 3-4 seconds to boost back..Based on that its possible to bring a wraith back to the battle.

This would require team work hard core. 4 people, 2 protect and 2 snipers.

Sniper 1 takes out the gunner.
Sniper 2 brakes driver hatch/ kills driver..
Support 1 keeps the enemy busy.
Support 2 covers team until driver is dead and makes a brake for the wraith.

Intel / What else has changed?
« on: October 18, 2010, 16:27:56 »
I noticed while playing Campaign Co-op, that The AI commented on a Lieutenant colonels armor, saying "Nice armor Lt." (no skulls were on) Now I am wondering if anything else might change based on your rank. Since Lt. Colonel grade 3 is the current highest rank and there is a achievement attached to it, maybe something CHANGES?
