Emiles helmet showed up in the "Your death" cutscene,

And then some weird helmet showed up in the "Rebirth" cutscene. :|

I wore the ODST helmet while 'asm wore the Recon helmet.

The "strange helmet" is the commando helmet. Carter's helmet.
