SGP Mini-Guide: Exclusive Armor

Unlike Halo 3: ODST which only had one exclusive code to unlock in-game goodies (poor Avery Johnson was sold out to Game Stop like a cheap whore), Halo Reach currently has at least four.

For many reasons, I feel a mini-guide is desirable for this.  Here are a few:

• One of the main objectives of the SGP is to assemble and publish game information in the form of guides.  It's what we do.
• In 7 years, someone who is now only 5 will discover an awesome "classic" game called "Halo Reach" and will be looking for this information on the net long after many people have forgotten it and the sites hawking these codes have shut down (aka "For Posterity")
• Good guides attract visitors, visitors become members, members make more guides
• Nightcrafter will become a mod if he gets this done right (with or without your help!)

Attached are some photos that can be used.

Please make the guide in the form of a guide... but use your own judgement.  It's a mini guide, so can be scaled down.  Pulse will know best since I am not around nearly as much as I'd like to be.

Please indicate when the guide is finished.  You may wish to make a poll:  "Is This Guide Complete?".  When it is, let me know and I will link to it from the web site.

Cross your fingers for NightCrafter.  You may also want to vote on what it is he should be moderating.  LOL.

Please scale the images you use to a common dimension.  Please help NC if he needs it.   Go SGP!

So the four I have seen so far are:

Limited Edition => Elite Armor
Legendary Edition => Flaming Helmet Armor Effect
Pre-Order Exclusive (confirmed at Game Stop, Amazon, Best Buy, probably many others) => Recon Helmet Variant
Game Stop Pre-Order Exclusive => "UA Multi-Threat Mjolnir Mark VI(B) Armor" (aka the "Beer Can Belt")  BCB, anyone?

The product description for the Legendary Edition states that it includes everything from the Limited Edition, so we are left to assume that the Legendary Edition gets you both the code for the Elite Armor set and the code for the Flaming Helmet Effect.

Pre-ordering from Game Stop is supposed to get you both the generic pre-order exclusive code for the Recon Helmet was well as the Game Stop-specific pre-order exclusive code for the BCB.

Halo Reach Limited Edition Xbox comes with the Standard Edition of Reach, so it's "No Codes For You!" if you go that route only... but man what a nice looking console!

In this day and age of the Internet, it's all about digital swag - and Halo: Reach has you covered.
But how do you get these exclusive sets of awesome? We'll get you there.

I. MJOLNIR Mark VI Recon Armor Variant - Visor/Blast Shield (stowed)

You can haz it

Go the distance and pick up your Halo: Reach pre-order on September 14th: you'll be rewarded. Bungie will grant you access to your Recon. Will there be more Vidmaster challenges? We have yet to be told. This helmet is not unlockable in the Armory and can be obtained by picking up a copy of Halo: Reach on release day in the U.S. or by pre-ordering it anywhere else in the world from participating vendors.

II. UA Multi-Threat Mjolnir Mark VI(B) Armor

A toast...

So you know what to get and when to get it. Now where? GameStop, of course! Pre-order from them and you will unlock the “beercan” chest piece. You'll become extremely popular with your online friends and be the life of the victory party by bringing refreshments* to the front line. This chest piece is not unlockable in the Armory and can be obtained by pre-ordering from GameStop (U.S.) or Game (Europe). *Does not actually contain beer. Sorry for the letdown.

III. Elite Armor

Get your hands on a Halo: Reach Limited Edition, and your Sangheili dreams will come true. This Elite armor is not unlockable in the Armory and can also be obtained with the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition and the Halo: Reach Xbox Slim.

IV. Flaming Spartan Helmet Effect

Cool armor, bro

Put down another $70 and you'll be on fire. Literally. The coveted flames are no longer a Bungie-only decoration. Anyone who is dedicated enough can roast their scalp. This armor effect is not unlockable in the Armory and can only be obtained by getting the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition.

V. Important Note
Even though the "Halo: Reach Edition" Xbox Slim console comes with the Standard Halo: Reach edition, it does comes with the Elite armor code - but that is all.


VI. Guide Update Procedure
Guides are initially submitted to the SGP Forum's "Work-In-Progress" board in a post by the author.  They are then discussed, edited, and approved by SGP members.  When the first edition is ready, it is copied to this "SGP Guides" board.  Although this SGP Guide post is read-only, the author's original submission post is left open in the WIP board so that future emendations can be made.

I only picked the "NC should be bannzed" because it clearly said: "NC should be banned form writing". It was to ironic to let go   .
I like it so far, but you are right, you do need pictures. Hopefully when you get home? BTW Most of the Sangheili lovers are pissed because you can only unlock 6 different armors (i think).
Otherwise, i vote: Its ok. pictures? That takes it up a notch.

Note that ALL the thumbnails are APPROXIMATELY THE SAME SIZE (ie, small). When you clicked them, THEN you could see 'em full size.

"Be extremely awesome" will be fixed. It sounded weird to me too. But then again, my writing sux, so I don't trust myself. I originally had it in that layout (see attached pic), but the formatting on this forum is a little difficult. I'll see what I can do.
