Halo Creation is an old friend of ours. A French memer, Tepec, used to be our connection with them, but he has disappeared.

But remember, that BOB has 3 different spawns in the final arena. Shouldn't we confirm all of them?

In my opinion, the Golden Opportunity challenge should be used to verify stuff that either is commonly confused for a BOB, or is not clearly a BOB.  All of the BOBs discovered on Tip of the Spear thus far have clearly been Gold Ranger Elites.  Maybe you guys should use Golden Opportunity to show, once and for all, that the Package Banshee is not a BOB, or that the Spec-Ops Elite on Winter Contingency is not a BOB. (so, pause the game, show the challenge is active, kill the non-BOB, then show it's still active)

Just my two cents.
I feel that it's more of a confirmation, especially since you can sometimes kill a BOB and not get a medal.

Footage of one of the Tip of the Spear Bravo BOB variants (assuming there's more than one) is available on my file share.  It's in two parts because in a fit of pink bow-tied BOB lust, I decided to run directly into a FRG blast. :)

I believe this is a well-documented BOB but I did confirm that he grants the Golden Opportunity Challenge.

Thanks for the confirmation and the clips!

I went and got this same BOB myself and recorded it to DVD-R, so we have video confirmation of the G.O. Challenge.

Now on to the missing one!

Theory 3
It is possible to enter the Garage in the bottom of the BXR Mining Facility if the Rocket Warthog is brought in.
I do believe that Monx tried to get into that only to find that there's nothing there, correct me if I'm wrong Monx, and I also doubt that a BOB would spawn in a place that you can't walk to or see from inside the playing fields.

Also, if the Golden Challenge is up, you should kill everything, including marines.
On that note, do you know if a marine spawned in the falcon that you enter near the end of the mission?

And what about the first falcon that flies over you in the beginning? We have to check everything.

Well, the QTA guy spawned even though I kill the first BOB. That's a letdown...

Anyways, there should be a BOB hanging around in that film clip. I couldn't find him, maybe you guys can.

Did all the enemies spawn in the level?  It's possible, at several points in this level, to proceed without spawning certain groups of enemies.  Did you use any skips of any sort?
No. Everything spawned.

Almost positive that the QTA XII VI Marine is a BOB.

Monx and I were doing a ToTS run, and we found a BOB on the first hill. Not anything worth noting. I went AFK due to unforeseen consequences. I then come back maybe a half hour later, and we do one trickjump and then restart the level. In Co-op, restarting the level resets all probabilty of the different BOB spawns.

We go through the level again. Nothing. No BOBs anywhere. This means there was a hidden one, one we had to find. I went into theater and looked EVERYWHERE. There was not a single one, anywhere. Then I noticed a marine, dropped off in a group of his bretheren from a Pelican, had the QTA engraved into his side kit. This is the Bob that spawned. There was nothing else, no Boosting Banshees or anything. I have a film of this marine BOB.

Ways to prove that this is a BOB are:
1: Play through, make sure the first documented BOB spawns on the hill, then check if the marine with QTA shows up.
2: Kill him when the Golden Opportunity Challenge comes up.

Here is the entire film. Keep in mind that I went AFK, so the first 45 minutes or so are unimportant. When the level restarts, you can try and search for this BOB. But I'm 99.9% sure there isn't one. Except for the marine.

You're right, I underestimated the true value of random.

Can anyone tell me where the known BOBs of ToTS are? I know of the first one, but no other ones. I need to know, otherwise, I might not see any BOBs just because I wasn't looking in the right place, and the film will be wasted.

Pulse, I don't think that this method will work on BOBs. It appears that the chance to get the 0.1% is not actually random at all. You cannot exploit something that is truly random. The programmed list of random numbers is NOT random. It does not fit the criteria. Using the butterfly effect, or a pattern, to get a certain random number, and having it work every time, is not random.

I would think that Microsoft would realize this and make an actual random number code.

Terminals / Re: Terminal 2
« on: October 30, 2011, 16:23:01 »
The location of this terminal was shown, I believe, in the below video.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/preview-halo-anniversary/723143

It's at about 2:19, looks like the level Halo but it's hard to say for sure.  It appears to be just inside the "cave that is not a natural formation", before the jump.
I really hope they put that their just so they could show what a Terminal is, and are changing it to somewhere harder later. I thought they said the Terminals were hard to find?

It may also be worth noting that marines do not classify the BOB as an enemy, they will not shoot it or even acknowledge its existence. Even if they are being shot by it.

Haven't seen any map concerning BOB's or maps in general. I would suggest trying to get out of map and taking some Ariel shots so that the area can be mapped properly. Doing this might also allow you to locate the drop pod for the bob way before it even crashes down, this may also show you what triggers it...

OR I WILL CONTINUE TO DO THIS!!! (attached)

Side note: My online is currently disabled...Seems to be the work of the Covenant..I mean Comcast.
Maps are pretty useless in linear levels. If we show you a picture of the place and you miss it, you probably won't find the BOB anyway. We should have a map for New Alexandria, though.

MAPS USELESS?
When there's a set path, and you can't go anywhere but that path, yes, maps are useless.

Its more for the sake of mapping location (BOB drop/ enemy spawns/ weapon location/ triggers/ vehicles) It could even be broken down into sectors or a grid for easy reference. Just because we all know the level doesn't mean we know where/what/who or when something changes/happens. having a map would for sure make the BOB guild that much better. Not everyone can watch the videos but everyone can see a picture...as long as they are not blind....or dead......
Honestly, what's easier for you? A vague map, or an in game picture of the Spire?
